House, now offices. c1870 for Shaw family. c1980 additions to rear in
matching style and materials. Red brick in Flemish bond with sandstone
ashlar dressings. Welsh slate roof. 2-room central entrance-hall plan with
extended wing to rear left. 2 storeys, 3 bays; symmetrical. Quoins. 6-
panelled door and overlight in ashlar architrave with scrolled brackets
carrying cornice and hood. 12-pane sashes in ashlar architraves with sills
and moulded cornices. Dentilled brick eaves course, ashlar cyma-moulded
cornice. Hipped roof. End stacks. Right return has round-headed sash with
margin lights, keyed arch and ashlar sill. Interior. Open well staircase
with turned balusters, moulded cornices, pilastered chimney-pieces, panelled
doors in architraves. Included for group value.
