GV II

House, now house and shop. Late C18 - early C19 with late C19 - early C20
shop front. Orange and yellow brick with front in contrasting Flemish bond,
rendered to lower courses. Pantile roof. L-shaped on plan: 2-room, central
entrance-hall front with wing to rear right. 2 storeys with attic, 3 bays;
symmetrical, with inserted shop front to right. Central entrance to No 70
has step to part-glazed C20 door in original surround with moulded lintel
and overlight with margin lights beneath painted rubbed-brick flat arch.
Shop front to right (No 68) has recessed half-glazed door with single-pane
shop window to right; both door and window in pilastered surround with plain
frieze, cornice and hood. C19 plate-glass sash to left in original C18
flush wooden architrave with sill beneath painted rubbed-brick flat arch.
Similar first-floor windows and surrounds, with narrow sash to right
truncated. Left gable end has 4-pane flush sash to ground floor, small
attic hatch with board door. Interior not investigated. Included for group
value.
