Windmill tower at Mill Farm

Windmill tower. c1824. Brick. Corrugated iron roof. Tapered round tower
of 4 storeys. Ground floor: C20 board door to east beneath C20 brick
soldier arch, stable door to south, probably inserted; 2 windows with sills
beneath segmental header arches, inserted segmental-headed window. Upper
floors each have single segmental headed windows with sills to east and west
sides, most with frames for top-hung casements, but no glazing. Stepped and
cogged brick cornice. Flat roof. Formerly had 4 sails driving 3 sets of
stones; ceased operation in early 1940s. Of the internal gear, only the
wooden upright shaft remained in 1978. Interior not investigated. Empty
and disused at time of resurvey. P Dolman, Lincolnshire Windmills, a
