House. Late C18. Colour-washed brick, stone dressings, pantile roof to
house. Stuccoed brick garden wall with stone coping. Cast-iron carriage
gates. Central-hallway entry with outhouse and cross wing to rear. 2
storeys, 3 bays with blind single-storey outhouse to left. Plinth. 6-
fielded-panel door with radial fanlight in Doric doorcase with attached
columns. 16-pane sashes beneath channelled wedge lintels with fluted
keystones throughout. First-floor band and stepped eaves course. Rebuilt
end stacks. Fine round-headed staircase window to cross wing. Interior:
open-string staircase with column-on-vase balusters with square knops and
ramped handrail. 6-fielded-panel doors to ground-floor rooms, those to main
reception rooms painted by a former occupant probably in the early C20.
Keyed-arched alcoves with imposts to left reception room. Wide elliptical
arch to kitchen fireplace and stopped chamfers to kitchen ceiling beam.
Bedroom fireplace is made up of 2 surrounds, the inner one of stone with
fluted keystone and the outer one of moulded timber with paterae to angles.
Plain garden wall with stone coping, ramped up to 2 pairs of carriage gates
with ornamental lock rails and bottom rails. Swept down tops with
spearheads. Fluted round gate piers with ball finials.
