House. Late 1830's. Part of a group laid out by John Shepherd, a Howden
joiner. Brick in English garden wall bond, Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 2
first-floor windows. 6-fielded-panel door beneath overlight with decorative
glazing bars in doorcase with plain jambs and consoles holding dosserets and
hood. Low board door beneath stone lintel to right. Sashes with glazing
bars beneath channelled wedge lintels with panelled, dropped keystones
throughout. Gutter carried on paired brackets. Interior: open-string
staircase with very slender column-on-vase balusters and carved tread ends.
Elliptical arch to hallway. Moulded chimney-piece with paterae to angles.
