Pair of houses. 1796 on datestone. Brown brick with pantile roof. Each
house with 2 rooms and rear outshut. Single storey with attic, 4 windows.
Pair of board doors to centre, flanked by pairs of 12-pane sliding sashes
(boarded-up at time of resurvey), all beneath painted segmental arches.
Central datestone. Pair of circular tie-bar ends. Corbelled brick eaves.
Tumbled-in brick to raised gables. Central axial stack. Single attic
windows to gables: C20 casement to left, original 4-pane sliding sash to
right. Interior not inspected. A good example of C18 freeholder's
cottages, and together with the cottage to the north (qv), the best
surviving in the Axholme area.
