Threshing barn. Mid-late C18. Brown brick in English bond. Pantile roof.
Rectangular on plan, with through waggon entrances. Forms north side of
foldyard. 2-storey height, 5 internal bays. North side: central entrance
bay, flanked by pilaster strips, has waggon entrance with harr-hung double
board doors beneath timber lintel (a reused section of timber frame) and
segmental stretcher relieving arch. To right, 3 tiers of graduated breather
slits, those at the top shorter. To left, first bay has ground-floor hatch
with board door beneath segmental arch, board door above with lintel at
eaves level; second bay has breather slits. Stepped eaves. Stone-coped
gables with shaped and moulded kneelers. South side: similar pilaster
strips flanking central bay with waggon entrance lower than that to north,
containing board door and brick blocking below original timber lintel and
segmental relieving arch; 2 tiers of single breather slits above. To left,
3 tiers of breather slits. To right, a board door and 2 small hatches,
similar breather slits. West gable end has 3 tiers of 3 breather slits, C19
rebuilt gable. Interior not inspected. Range adjoining to east is not of
