C18, altered. Colour-washed roughcast and machine tiles. Original building
of 2 storeys and attics with 4 flush windows with rusticated lintels, hung sashes
with glazing bars. 3 windows to ground floor. 2 gables with fake half-timbering.Door surround of Roman Doric half columns and entablature with modillion cornice.
Later north wing has ridge tile and fake half-timber to gable. 5 3-light mullion
windows above 1 window of 8 lights and 2 late C19 shop fronts. South elevation
includes Venetian windows and oriel.

The George Hotel, its farmer stable block, and Nos 7 to 17 (odd) form a group
of which the former stable block is local interest only.
