House. Mid C19 or earlier, with late C19 front and C20 alterations. Red
brick with some sandstone ashlar dressings to rear; stucco front. Pantile
roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays: 3-bay symmetrical section on right, with single
bay wing to left. Plinth. Pilasters at angles and between bays 1 and 2.
Rusticated ground floor. Entrance in third bay: flat-roofed porch with
plain entablature and cornice carried on Tuscan columns has stone steps to
recessed part-glazed door beneath blocked overlight flanked by pilasters.
Full-height canted bay windows to either side with sashes, moulded cornices
and recessed panels between floors. 12-pane sash to left wing in architrave
with bracketed cill and plain shouldered and eared surround with raised
roundels. First floor band. Similar first floor window above, and sash
above entrance in raised surround with moulded cornice and hood on consoles.
Modillioned entablature, frieze with circular floral ornament and moulded
cornice. Parapet between coped pillar extensions of pilasters with
segmental-arched and stepped section over 3 bays to right bearing wreath
ornament. Rear, facing street, has bays defined by pilasters with moulded
stone capitals. Part-glazed door on right with plain overlight in panelled
reveal with beaded surround and hood. Part-glazes door in second bay
beneath porch in adjoining outhouse range with colpured glass casement to
right and 12-pane sash in flush wooden architrave in third bay. First floor
band. 4 similar sashes above. Projecting parapet, with low triangular
concrete slab-coped sections between stone-coped pillar extensions of
pilaster. Interior of no special interest.
