House. C17 or earlier origins with C19 extension to right, C19-C20 re-
roofing and casing, and C20 porch. Timber framing infilled with mud and
stud, partly encased in brick, with rendered brick gables and stacks,
colourwashed throughout. Pantile roof. Plan: 2 rooms with central lobby-
entry, pantry and stairs; 2-room kitchen extension to right. Single storey
with attic, 2 windows. Late C18 - early C19 brick to gables and lower half
of wall, forming a deep plinth, chamfered to right; later C19 and C20 brick
patching to left. Low gabled open porch over C20 door with sidelights,
flanked by 3-light casement to left and 2-light casement to right. Steeply-
pitched roof with brick coped and tumbled gables, that to left preserving
the original very steep roof pitch. Large end stack to left, external end
stack to right now in extension. Extension, in colourwashed brick with
pantile roof, single storey, has door and 2 casements. Rear: brick casing
to lower sections and ends, large timber wall plate or middle rail visible
to right; wide 8-pane central casement flanked by single 12-pane sliding
sashes. 3 raking dormers, central one with 3-light sliding sash, others
with casements; boarded cheeks to left dormer, others rendered. Interior:
massive spine beam to room on left has cyma reversa mouldings with stepped
cyma stops; room to right has higher ceiling, probably originally open to
roof.
