Farmhouse. Mid C18 with C19 attic storey and bay window. Red brick in Flemish bond.
Welsh slate roof. Plan: 3 rooms with entrance-hall to left and rear outshut containing
back stairs. 2 storeys with attic, 4 bays, with 3-bay symmetrical entrance front
to left. Steps to original 6-panel door (with 4 inserted glazed panels above 2
fielded-panels) and 3-pane overlight in architrave, beneath painted ashlar hood
with moulded cornice on shaped brackets. C19 plate-glass sashes in original C18 flush
wooden architraves with projecting sills and painted rubbed brick flat arches.
Flat-roofed ground-floor canted wooden bay window to right with pilasters, plain
frieze and plate glass sashes. 2-course brick band at former eaves level. End stack
to left, axial stack to right. Interior. Open well main staircase with closed
string, moulded handrail, plain newels and column-on-vase balusters with square knops;
open well back staircase with balustrade containing single original panel of Chinese
Chippendale fret (remainder C20 replacements); early C19 ribbed plaster cornice to
ground floor centre; shelved alcove to ground floor left; 6-fielded-panel doors to
hall.
