Early C20. Bust of Alderman John Sawdon, Mayor of Bridlington, 1861-1910, supported
on stone battered plinth with dentil cornice and pediment, scrolled supports.
Lion's mask spout of drinking fountain above basin. Base and 2 steps. Guard of
wrought iron standards with fleur de lys finials. Various inscriptions relating
his achievements. Unveiled 28 March 1912.

The Memorial Drinking Fountain forms a group with Nos 11 to 16 (consec). Baylegate
and Nos 4 to 8 (consec) Kirgate, Nos 11 to 16 (consec), Balyegate are of local
interest.
