11/54 The Elms
House. Probably C18 in origin, remodelled in mid C19. Orange brick,
rendered and colourwashed to main elevation, graduated slate roof.
2 storeys, 5 bays in symmetrical elevation. Plinth, rusticated quoins.
4-panel door with overlight with glazing bars in panelled reveals and soffit
in porch with plain columns and foliated capitals, bearing Composite
entablature. Late C19 canted bays with sashes to right and left. First
floor: 5 sashes with sills and glazing bars in architraves. End stacks,
plain close verges. Late C20 wing walls to right and left are not of
special interest. The early C19 chimney-pieces mentioned in the previous
list description have been removed.
