Windmill tower, now part of house. c1828; alterations of 1980 included re-
roofing and re-flooring. Brick, colour-washed; plain tile roof. Tapered
round tower of 5 storeys. Segmental-headed doorways and windows with C20
doors and glazing. Low pitched hexagonal roof. Interior largely refitted.
C20 porch and additions to rear are of no special interest. Formerly known
as New Mill, it ceased operation c1900. Victoria County History: York, East
