Farmhouse. 1856 by S S Teulon for the Crown Commissioners. Red-brown brick
in English bond. Concrete tile roof. Approximately T-shaped on plan: 2-
room, central entrance-hall west front, 3-room north entrance front, double-
depth wing to rear. 2 storeys. West front: 3 first-floor windows;
asymmetrical, with projecting gabled section to left. Chamfered plinth.
Section set back to right has 3 steps to segmental-headed board door with
strap hinges in chamfered reveal, with a segmental-headed 8-pane window to
right and a recessed circular date plaque above, all beneath a wide
segmental-pointed relieving arch. Large single 12-pane ground-floor sash to
right beneath recessed segmental-pointed panel with painted herringbone
brick infill, pair of first-floor half-dormers with 12-pane sashes beneath
similar segmental-pointed panels, stepped eaves and tumbled-in brick to
larger gable to right. Gabled wing to left has pair of 12-pane ground-floor
sashes beneath recessed pointed-arched panels with herringbone brick infill, above
single similar window with painted recessed panel flanked by flush brick
Celtic cross motifs; stepped eaves and tumbled-in brick to gable with
central decorative flush brick round panel. Right return of wing has diaper
decoration in black brick. Banded axial stack. Left return forms north
front: 4 first-floor windows. Segmental-pointed board door to right of
centre in chamfered reveal. Pair of 12-pane sashes to right beneath painted
recessed segmental-pointed panels; to left, a similar sash and 2 smaller 12-
pane sashes beneath similar arches. 12-pane first-floor sashes with lintels
at eaves level. Half-hipped roof and partly-projecting end stack to left
with tumbled-in brick to offsets. Single-storey section adjoining to left
with C20 garage doors, half-hipped roof. Right return forms south garden
front: single window central section with projecting gabled wing to left,
single-window section set back to right. Central section has a 12-pane
ground-floor sash beneath a painted recessed segmental-pointed panel, 4-pane
first-floor sash beneath a flat arch, partly-projecting stack to right with
tumbled-in brick to offsets, and a recessed relief tablet bearing crown,
royal cypher and date in a chamfered segmental-pointed arched reveal; right
return with 12-pane ground-floor sash beneath segmental-pointed panel,
similar first-floor sash ; half-hipped roof. Section to right has step to
half-glazed door (9 panes above a fielded panel) beneath segmental-pointed
panel, 12-pane segmental-arched first-floor sash beneath raised eaves. Wing
to left has projecting ground-floor bay window with, chamfered angles,
corbelled-out above, and single 12-pane segmental-headed sash beneath hipped
roof; 12-pane first-floor sash beneath pointed arch panel flanked by flush
brick Celtic cross motifs, similar brick gable details and black brick
diaper decoration to west front. Interior contains closed string staircase
with moulded handrail, chamfered newel and Gothic-style splat balusters with
pierced trefoils; panelled doors in architraves. One of a series of C19
