Church. C12 nave, early C14 chancel, C15 west tower, C17 south porch.
Ashlar, brick to south porch, slate roofs. West tower, 4-bay nave with
south porch, 3-bay chancel. West tower of 3 stages with hollow chamfered
plinth and diagonal buttresses. Pointed belfry openings of 2 lights with
cusped Y-tracery under stopped hood-moulds. Crenellated parapet. Pointed
west door with hood-mould; pointed 3-light west window with Perpendicular
tracery under stopped hood-mould. Heraldic shield over, beneath crocketed
ogee canopy. Nave: chamfered plinth and string-course, pilaster buttresses.
2 pointed windows of c1800 with sashes with intersecting glazing bars.
South doorway of 6 round chevroned orders supported on nook shafts with
scalloped and carved capitals under hood-mould. Chevrons and chamfered
string with saltire crosses above, under gablet with diaper-work ornamented
with circles and compass-rose motifs. Double-leaf door with 6 raised and
fielded panels under timber tympanum, also with raised and fielded panels.
Corbel table with grotesques. South porch with benches. Chancel: chamfered
plinth, and buttresses with offsets. 3 pointed windows with intersecting
tracery under hood-moulds with human head stops. Central pointed priest's
door under stopped hood-mould. Dwarf buttress to east gable under pointed
window with intersecting tracery and stopped hood-mould. Interior: memorial
tablet at west end of nave to Thomas Pinchett (vicar for 51 years) and his
wife 1739. 3 trefoil-headed sedilia with similar piscina to chancel south
wall. C12 tub font with incised arcading.
