Pair of houses. Built as crossing keepers' houses c1847. Probably by
G.T. Andrews. Brown and red brick, slate roofs. 2 storeys, 4 bays;
projecting end bays. Side entry. Chamfered plinth. Ground floor: small
C20 window to re-entrant angle of No 27 adjoining 2-pane sash to left,
otherwise sashes with glazing bars, all under slightly segmental gauged
brick arches. Similar windows to first floor. Oversailing eaves,
twin-flue axial stacks.
