House, now hotel. Mid C18. Orange brick with ashlar dressings, timber
eaves cornice, slate roof. 3 storeys, 5 bays 2:1:2. Centre 3 bays break
forward. Plinth. Tuscan porch to door of six raised and fielded panels
with overlight in pilastered doorcase with panelled reveals and soffit under
blank round arch. Round-headed sashes with radial glazing to left, round-
headed sashes with glazing bars to right under gauged brick arches. Round-
arched recesses with impost band to outer bays. 1st floor: Londesborough
coat of arms, in square panel with volutes and cornice, supported on
brackets, to centre bay; sashes with glazing bars and sills under flat
gauged brick arches to right and left. Second floor band. Second floor: 6-
pane sashes with sills under flat gauged brick arches. Modillioned eaves
cornice, axial stacks, hipped roof. Interior: many original features
including mid C18 stair with scrolled treadends, turned balusters, and
ramped and wreathed moulded handrail.
