Pair of houses. Built as railway crossing-keepers' cottages. Mid C19.
Probably by G T Andrews. Brown brick with red gauged brick dressings,
timber to porches. Slate roofs. Two storeys, 4 bays in form of central 2-
bay range with separately roofed crosswings. Two side entries under
identical timber glazed lean-to porches with 4-panel doors. Ground floor:
sashes with sills and glazing bars under slightly cambered gauged brick
arches. Similar, smaller windows to 1st floor. Deep oversailing eaves.
Twin axial flues with strainer arches to right and to left, single axial
flue to centre. These houses are almost identical to those provided for the
same purpose at Pocklington.
