Signal box. 1911. North Eastern Railway Southern Division Type 4. Red brick
with ashlar dressings, weatherboarded upper floor. Welsh slate roof. Rectan-
gular on plan. 2 storeys. Entrance to upper floor by external timber stair.
Small-paned windows with ashlar sills and lintels. To 1st floor small-paned
horizontal sliding windows. Railed balcony on brackets to line side. Stack
to rear. Bargeboards with finials to gables. Included as a good example of the
type having group value with the station buildings.
