Late C17. Two storeys. The front is late C18 in red brick. Modern tile roof
to front, pantile to rear. Fluted lead rainwater head. Stucco plinth. Four
windows, painted stone heads, hung sashes with glazing bars. Ground floor
has one window and a bow window with glazing bars and shallow cornice. Central
coupled entrance with wood case, architraves, consoles enriched with anthemion,
leaves and beads, frieze and bracketed cornice - this framework has been retained
but a single door of 6 fielded panels below a rectangular ornamental fanlight
is now flanked by modern side lights. Fine contemporary staircase, closed
and moulded string, spiral balusters, plain newels with moulded drop finials,
bolection moulding to dado level. Dining Room has a bolection moulded chimney-
piece (ex situ, but from the house). Drawing Room has a late C18 composition
chimneypiece of high quality from Cheadle Hall, Cheshire.
