9/137 The Old Manse, now part
1.3.50 of Humberside County
Council Offices
Late C17 and later. Two storeys, brown brick, west face painted. Four windows
to Lairgate, two to both builds, hung sashes with glazing bars, over one,
carriage entry and one window. Moulded brick eaves cornice. Slate roof,
hipped at north angle. North garden front; ground floor has three windows,
a mid C19 2-storey wood splay bay with plate glass and pilastered wood case
to 4-panel door with rectangular fanlight. First floor has a late C18 sash
window to both sides of bay. Moulded brick eaves cornice. Roof slated and
hipped. Lower wing at east end has 6-panel door and an early C18 sash window
to ground and first floors. Overhanging brick course at eaves. Pantile roof.
Inside the house is a good late C17 stair and other details.
