Remains of treadmill and bakery with attached wall. c1600 and C18 with
later restorations. Pinkish-orange brick with ashlar dressings and pantile
roof. Bakery: part of 3 walls remain, that to west approximately 4 metres
by 4 metres has opening with cavetto-moulded ashlar architrave. Wall to
east approximately 1 metre in length by 4 metres high. Wall to north almost
complete and forms one wall of treadmill: steps to entrance to treadmill
with timber lintel. Opening to ground floor has cavetto-moulded ashlar
architrave. Similar opening to gable. Treadmill open to east side.
Interior has well with ashlar sides and partly-restored treadmill wheel.
Treadmill has roof hipped to north. Wall to north extends for approximately
5 metres and has ashlar plinth and rubbed brick copings bell-shaped on
section.
