12/37 Signal box to north of
Signal box. 1903. For North Eastern Railway. Brown brick in English bond
with ashlar dressings and Welsh slate roof. Single storey with basement,
2 bays. Clasping pilasters corbelled out above basement. Basement:
entrance to east gable end, a plank door. Sides have two 9-paned fixed-light
windows with radial glazing to heads under round arches and with stone sills.
Similar window to west gable end. Ashlar band. Ground floor: entrance to
east gable end, steps to part-glazed door. North side has two 18-pane
Yorkshire sashes. South side has casement window. West gable has 21-pane
unequally-hung Yorkshire sash. Rear stack. Included for group value.
