C18. 2 storeys and attics. The front is tile-hung and painted. 3 dormers, the
centre one with curved pediment. 3 sashes with glazing bars intact. The centre
1st floor window is round-headed. Porch with thin columns, open pediment and
rectangular fanlight to the doorway with geometric tracery. Modern door. A tablet
on the house records that Thackeray stayed there in 1860 and wrote "Tunbridge
Toys" there.
Nos 83 to 85 (consec) form a group.
