Brissenden Farmhouse
GV II
House. C16, altered c.1666 and extended mid to late C20. Timber framed and
clad with red brick and tile hanging, and part exposed to rear with red brick
infill. Extended with red brick and weather boarding. Plain tiled roofs. Two
parallel ranges; the entrance front the C20 addition. Two storeys, with
projecting outshot to left, gable to right and hipped dormer at end left. Three
wood casements on each floor, and boarded door in hipped porch to centre left.
Rear range of 2 storeys and attic, with hipped roof to right, half-hipped to
left, the eaves supported by projecting brackets. Moulded central stack
cluster. Catslide outshot to half of rear elevations, with boarded door, with
red and blue brick to ground floor. Interior: full frame visible in part dated
1666 (date of stack?)
