Beal Farmhouse
GV II
House. C17 or earlier. Timber framed and weather boarded on red brick base,
with plain tiled roof. Lobby entry plan. Two storeys and attic with half-
hipped roof, central hipped dormer, and moulded stack to centre left. Two 2
light and centre-right 3 light wooden casements on each floor, those on ground
floor transomed, with glazed door to centre left with flat hood on brackets and
small light over. The rear boarded door probably was originally set in this
opening. Interior: full frame visible, of good scantling with tongue-stopped
chamfers and mortices for lozenge-set window. Mullions and shutter grooves.
Tie-beam roof. Full set of carpenter's marks.
