Garden walls to north and north east of Maypole

GV
II

Garden walls. Early C19. Red brick. A series of walled gardens to north and
north east of Maypole, all about 7 to 8 feet high with pilaster buttresses, and
with corner piers and boarded gates in segmentally headed openings. Two main
courts, immediately to north, about 75 metres by 30, and to north east, about 50
metres by 50 metres, with lesser enclosure further to east about 20 metres by 20.
The walls extended to the north to form the boundary walls of Tattlebury and
Little Tattlebury and the Wine Shop and Gallery (items 15/272 and 15/273). They
are attached to the north eastern corner of Maypole via linking gateways and
piers.
