Description

GOUDHURST HORDEN
TQ 74 SE
2/198 Barn, now garage, about
25 metres south of
Little Horden
GV II
Barn, now garaging. Early C19 reconstruction re-using C16 or earlier timbers.
Timber framed and weather boarded, in part on sandstone base, with plain tiled
roof. Single storey and loft, with hipped roof. Boarded door to left, cart doors
to end right, and central late C20 sliding garage doors. Interior: end left bay
separately framed, its stone base returned to interior partition, with lathe and
plaster wall to loft. The ground floor of the main range, reconstructed with old
timbers, ....... a loft, partitioned off as if originally aisled (ie giving a
'tanked' appearance). Most unusual.
