Shear Farmhouse
II
House. Circa 1600. Timber framed and tile hung and infilled and refaced with
red brick on ground floor. Two cell-lobby entry plan with outshot. Two storeys
and garrett with half-hipped roof and central cluster of 3 flues. Regular fene-
stration of 2 three light wooden casements on each floor with boarded door off-
centre to right. Catslide outshot to rear. Interior: Base of central stack
constructed of sandstone, with newel stair against its rear side. The building
was stripped of this at time of survey, its structure fully exposed, prior to
re-cladding and extension.
