Hope Mill House
GV II
Mill house. C17 or earlier, clad and extended late C19. Timber framed and clad
with red brick on ground floor and tile hung on 1st floor with plain tiled
roof. Entrance front: 2 storeys, with C19 wing projecting to left with gabled
central portion, with 2 sashes on 1st floor, 1 to left on ground floor, and
boarded door to right with raking hood. Main range projecting to right, with
half-hipped roof, stack to centre left, 2 mullioned and transomed 3 and 2 light
windows on each floor. Garden front with mullioned and transomed windows one
ach floor, hipped dormer and hipped projecting wing. This range originally a
lobby-entry 4 bay plan.
