GV II
House. C16 or earlier, restored late C19. Timber framed, part restored and
exposed with plaster infill on red and blue brick base, part tile hung, with plaintiled roof. Probable hall house with cross-wing. Two storeys with hipped roof, and projecting jettied and hipped cross-wing at right, with stack to centre
right. Two wooden casements on each floor of main range, and 2 to first floor of
cross-wing, 1 on ground floor with boarded doors on left and right sides of
recessed porch, with brackets to jetty, to left of cross-wing. Fully framed
interior. George Devey restored and extended adjacent Chittenden whilst extending Marlborough House School opposite 1879-80, and may well have restored this building at the same time.
