TO 7429-7529 (west side)

18/385 Vine Cottage
GV II
House. Mid C18 and restored and C20. Red brick, and plain tiled roof. Two
storeys with plinth, plat band and paired modillion eaves cornice to roof half-
hipped to left and gabled to right with stacks to centre right and projecting at
end left and at end right. Three tripartite sashes on each floor, those on ground
floor with segmental heads, with half-glazed door to centre left with flat hood on
brackets. End right bay shown in late C17 photographs with shop window and tile
hung. Boarded door with flat hood to left return, with painted board over record-
ing the house built c.1741 for John Brooke.
