House, now cottage pair. C16 or earlier. Timber framed and clad with sandstone
blocks and red brick in English bond, part rendered, on ground floor, and tile
hung on first floor. Plain tiled roof. End-jettied hall house in origin. Two
storeys on sandstone plinth with jetty to right return on brackets. Roof hipped
to left and half-hipped to right with stacks to left, to rear and clustered to
centre. Three-light and two 2-light wooden casements on first floor, and two
2-light and two 3-light casements on ground floor, with half glazed door to centre
with raking hood. Catslide outshots to left and to rear. Interior: inglenook
fireplaces, chamfered beams. Domed bread oven in rear extension and diamond-set
mullioned windows preserved to outshot.
