House. C15 altered and extended C16. Timber framed and exposed with plaster infill.
Plain tiled roof. Wealden hall house, the hall infilled and the whole extended with a
continuous jettied wing. The Wealden lies hip end to the road, with 4 framed bays of
2 storeys, the centre bays infilled with close studding, the rest panelled frame
with tension bracing with jetty to right and returned to right, the left end wing
obscured by C20 outshot. Hipped roof. Irregular wooden casements and C20 door in
outshot. Roadside elevation consists of the return jettied bay of the Wealden with
blocked mullioned window and 3 light wooden casement on first floor and 2 light
casement on ground floor, and a 3 bay continuous jettied extension, close studded
with a moulded bresummer and gabled roof with stack cluster to end right in a small
framed bay, possibly originally a smoke bay. Blocked mullioned windows ranged under
eaves, with 2 and 3 light wooden casements on first floor and 3 light casement on
ground floor, with rib and stud door to left in four centred arched opening and
identical blocked opening to right of that, either for another door or a window.
