House. Circa 1600, altered and extended 1925-28. Timber framed and clad with red
and blue chequered brick on ground floor and tile hung on first floor, the main
posts exposed on return elevations with red brick infill. Plain tiled roof.
Originally a 2 cell lobby entry plan extended to right 1 bay. Two storeys and attic
with hipped roof and stacks to right and moulded and clustered to centre left. Four
gabled dormers. Three 3 light C20 mullioned and transomed wooden casements on each
floor with glazed door to centre left and 2 light casement over. Catslide outshot
and C20 extensions to rear. Interior: the visible details are all c.1600, although
the reported sans purlin roof may indicate an earlier origin. Arched braced frame
with stop chamfered joists. Large stone stack, with red brick repairs in place of
bread oven, with upper stone fireplaces, one with cross shaped chamfer stop.
