House. C18 or earlier, altered and extended mid C20. Timber framed and weather
boarded with tile hung return elevations, on red brick base. Plain tiled roof. Two
storeys and attic on plinth with stacks to centre left and projecting and offset at
end right with English bond brick base on sandstone blocks. Two hipped dormers.
Three 4 light wooden casements on first floor and three 5 light on ground floor,
those to centre and to right in stone and red brick bays linked by pentice roof and
central gabled half-timbered porch with rib and stud door and flight of 5 steps.
The end left bay and the fenestration added mid C20. Two storey rear wing with
single storey extensions beyond. An ancient site; Alice Sampson whose memorial is
in the Church signed her will here in 1508.
