House. Mid to late C16, extended and altered C17 to C18. Timber framed on red brick
and sandstone base, frame part exposed with plaster infill with tile hung first
floor and with red brick and tile hung return and rear elevations. Plain tiled roof.
Continuous jettied house of four framed bays. Two storeys, garret and basement on
plinth with close studded ground floor and coved and plastered jetty to first floor
with moulded bresummer on brackets. Stacks projecting at end left (rebuilt late C20)
and at end right, the massive offset stack here in English bond brickwork and of
same date as basement, with two lozenge set flues; large freestanding stack to rear
centre right. Four 2 light wooden casements on first floor and three 3 light wooden
casements on ground floor with blocked mullioned windows to centre and to end
right. C20 rib and stud doors to left and to centre right. Mullioned garret window
to right return. Late C20 single storey extension to end left, part exposed frame,
part tile hung with wooden casements and boarded door in left return. Rear elevation
largely C18 in character with 2 storey hipped wing, with wooden casements and
French doors on ground floor.
