Oasthouse. Dated 1871. Red brick and weather boarded gable end with plain tiled
roof. Stowage of 2 storeys and loft with half-hipped roof and three wooden
casements on each floor of long sides and boarded doors to each floor in gable end,
single, double and cart doors in descending sequence. Four roundels at south end,
each with louvred ventilating windows and with cowls and winding vanes intact. Each
cowl with iron weather vane in the form of a flag, each with a letter: A V E H , a
reference to the Husseys of Scotney, part of whose estate this was.
