Public House, originally a cobbler's premises. Dates from
1621, though mainly of 1798 when it became an alehouse with
C20 alterations and 1 storey extension to rear. Weatherboarded
building with old tiled roof and brick chimneystacks. 2
parallel ranges; 2 storeys, 3 windows. Casement windows and
simple doorcase in end elevation. Catslide to rear. Interior
has C18 framing but probably C17 large brick open fireplace
with 2 salt niches and wooden bressumer with run out stops.
