House, at one time an Inn. Former late Medieval open hall
house with late C16 parlour cross wing and service end
replaced in C18 when the building was refronted, with
Edwardian kitchen extension and C20 fenestration.
Timber-framed building, the front clad in weatherboarding the
right side elevation tile hung. Steeply pitched tiled roof,
hipped and with gablet to left, gabled to right with off
central panelled late C16 brick chimneystack. 2 storeys and
attics: 3 windows. 2 C19 gabled dormers. 3 C20 tripartite
casements. Doorcase now in side elevation. Front has wooden
sundial. Interior has remains of dais beam and 2 inglenook
fireplaces, one with salt niche. Parlour has 2 C18 china
cupbards with serpentine shelves. Jowled posts. 1st floor has
main bedroom with roll moulded ceiling. Shutter grooves.
Cellar has wine bins dating from the building's use as an Inn.
