House. Mid to late C18 with some C19 alterations. Built of red
brick with grey headers and hipped old tiled roof with 2 brick
chimneystacks. 2 storeys, attics and basement; 5 windows.
Stone stringcourse and parapet with stone coping and brick
bracket cornice carried up within the parapet to form a
pediment over the central 1st floor window which is
segmental-headed with a keystone over. 12-pane sashes with
ribbed brick voussoirs. Attic storey has large brick gable
with pseudo-Venetian window added in C19 above the parapet in
place of the central dormer. 2 end gabled dormers. Open
pedimented doorcase with Tuscan half-columns shell fanlight
and 6 panelled door approached up side flights of stone steps
with cast iron handrail and incorporating Diocletian window to
basement. The grandest C18 house in Sandhurst.
