Originally called Marine Terrace. A terrace of houses not quite uniform built
in 1830-1835, but appearing somewhat earlier in date. 3 storeys and semi basement
stuccoed. Slate roofs, Mainly 2 windows each but Nos 31, 32 and 35 have 3 windows
each. Windows in moulded architrave Surrounds with glazing bore intact. Nos 27-30
form 2 pairs. Curved bay on the ground and 1st floor of each home containing
a 3-light window in moulded architrave surround. Outer window bay of each pair
recessed. Cornice and parapet above 1st floor (the parapet cut array from No 30).
Mansarded roofs. Round-headed doorways in moulded architrave surrounds with semi-circular
fanlights and double doors or 8 fielded panels, up 6 steps with iron handrail.
No 31 is the central home of the terrace and is double fronted. 2 similar curved
bay windows on the ground floor only with iron balconies over. Cornice above 1st
floor. Round-headed windows on 2nd floor. Eaves cornice. Central doorway up
6 steps with engaged fluted Doric columns, projecting cornice, semi-circular fanlight
and door of 8 fielded panels. Nos 32 to 35 form 2 pairs, but are not all identical.
Nos 32 and 35 are alike, and Nos 33 and 34 alike. All have similar curved bay
windows on the ground and 1st floors, eaves cornice and round-headed doorways up
steps in moulded architrave surrounds with semi-circular fanlights and double doors
of 3 fielded panels. But the top floor of Nos 33 and 34 is an attic of 1 dormer
each, and the inner window bay of these houses is recessed. Nos 32 and 33 have
recessed porches with an iron balcony on the let flow above also recessed. Their
top floor, which has 3 windows each, 5 flush with the floors below.

Nos 23 to 36 (consec) form a group.
