Cobham Court
TR 15 NE 9/121

2.
The original portion is probably late mediaeval. It was originally L-shaped
and comprised the present south-east and south-west fronts. Two storeys red
brick. Stringcourse. Casement windows. The angle of the L was filled in
in the early C19. This portion faces north-west and is faced with roughcast.
It has sash windows with glazing bars intact and a round-headed doorcase with
semi-circular fanlight and door of 6 fielded panels. The whole roof is tiled
and is in 3 hips. This was the Court House of the manor and there is said
to be a large panelled room where the Court of the Deputy Mayor of Hastings
took place. Bekesbourne was a limb of the Cinque Ports.
