Terrace row. 1840's. Rendered and pebble dashed with slate roof. Three
storeys and basement with rusticated base, cill band and parapet to roof
with stacks ranged left to right. Each house unit with 2 glazing bar sashes
on 2nd floor with gauged heads (10 bays in all), with wooden casement
replacements to No. 10, and bow window to left on basement, ground and 1st
floors, with French windows on first floor with fine star-traceried fanlights
with inserted lights to right and with continuous tented verandah, with
trellised piers, cast iron valancing and heart and honeysuckle panel rails,
on simple iron brackets. Triple glazing bar sash with Ionic pilaster
surround on ground floor, with raised and fielded panel below, and door of
6 panels to right (5 in all), with semi-circular fanlight at head of flight
of steps. Single glazing bar sash and pointed arched doorway to basements.
Fleur-de-lys rails with urn finial principals. Identical in form and history
to Nos. 1-31 (odd) on the opposite side of the road (item 10/53).
