Free standing wall monument. Early to mid C18. Stock brick wall, part
rendered, extended with flint. The main section stands about 6 feet
high with, on the eastern face, 2 identical tabernacles, with pedestal,
festooned sides, brackets to open pediments containing winged cherubs
on Rocaille scallops in swan-necked pediment to moulded panel surround,
the earliest date decipherable is 1737. To centre is an early C19
stele-shaped plaque on a bracket. To right a flint walled extension,
with segmentally headed chanelled rendered end wall bearing a plaque
with heavy foliated consoles and segmental pediment with winged cherubs,
trumpets and clouds. Attached to the western face of the main wall is
a plaque similar to the Maxton/Holman plaque; festooned sides, brackets,
open pediment, scalloped panel surround, and a festooned urn.
