barrel tomb
and headstone
about 10
metres south
west of Church
of St. Laurence
Headstone, barrel tomb and footstone. Early C19. Stone inscription
illegible. Headstone about 3½ feet high, in Neo-classical style, with
beaded roundels below acroteria, and with filleted round head, with
half-relief of an urn with 2 female mourners, the one standing, the other
kneeling. Two piece barrel chest, and footstone, also with acroteria.
Headstone to Richard Maye, d.1705. About 1 1/2 feet high with outlined
head and winged hourglass.
