Public house. Early C18. Rendered with plain tiled roof. Two storeys
and basement on plinth with quoins to cornice and parapet. Stacks to
left with remains of parapet gable. Tripartite sash to left and 2
sashes on first floor, all at different levels, and tripartite sash,
4 light window with cornice and flanking double half-glazed doors, in
pilastered surround and tripartite sash to right on ground floor.
Basement opening to left. Central incised plastered name plaque on
first floor. Interior level considerably lower than street level.
One of the oldest public houses in Ramsgate, and marked as the Deal
Cutter on Collard and Hurst's 1822 map.
