Terrace row. Circa 1802. Rendered with slate roof. Three storeys and
basement with string course to parapet. Three canted oriel-bays on second
floor with additional metal casement to right of end left oriel (no. 37).
Canted bays to ground and first floors, with moulded cornice to ground
floor. French doors on first floor and tented verandahs, with simple piers,
scrolled brackets to roof. Gothick panelled rails, and simple iron brackets.
Doors to right of bays, with 6 raised and fielded panels, partly glazed, in
fluted and moulded surrounds with single step. Simple rails with urn
principles to Areas. Part of 10 houses built 1802, James Townley's first
development in Spencer Square, by 1810 used as officers' quarters while
area was Cavalry barracks (See Busson 108-9).
