Pair of stone Lions. About 3½ feet high. Rampant bearing a scroll,
originally with motto. The two lions are identical to those used as
finials on the Granville Hotel, which bear the Pugin motto: En Avant and
are either from that building or else part of Edward Welby Pugin's general
redevelopment scheme of this area in the late 1860's. (See Busson,
